Hey Runner!
This past weekend, something incredible happened.
Josh Kerr ran the fastest mile in history—3:42.66—breaking a world record that had stood for 27 years.
Most people see the finish line.
I see the thousands of workouts that came before it.
Records aren’t broken because someone gets lucky on race day. They’re broken because athletes consistently do the little things that most people skip.
The same is true whether you’re:
- A young athlete trying to make the team
- A high school runner chasing a PR
- A parent training for your first 5K
- Preparing for a half marathon or marathon
- Or simply trying to become a stronger, healthier version of yourself
You don’t need world-record talent to make dramatic improvements.
You need strategic and consistent training.
Running more miles can absolutely help. It builds your aerobic engine, improves your running economy, and prepares your body to handle faster paces.
But if you want to maximize your potential, mileage is only part of the equation.
The fastest runners also improve how they run.
They build strength. They refine their mechanics. They develop speed and power. They become more efficient so every stride covers more ground with less wasted energy.
That’s exactly why I created the RUN FASTER NOW formula.
Whether you’re 10 years old or 70, the principles are the same:
✅ Improve your running form and biomechanics.
✅ Strengthen your speed muscles.
✅ Practice mental power drills.
✅ Build your aerobic foundation.
✅ Train speed with purpose.
✅ Stay consistent.
Every great performance starts long before race day.
So here’s your challenge this week:
Win today’s workout.
Because today’s workout becomes tomorrow’s personal record.
Rooting for you,
Martise : )
